Hostly Reviews
Hospitality software. Positioning, product marketing, and launch, concepted with Vero Dawn.
Restaurant owners know reviews drive trust and revenue. The problem was never awareness, it's time. Hostly was positioned as the workflow keeping the owner in control while removing the evening spent writing replies.

- ~10 min/day
- Down from an evening a week
- 0 auto-posts
- Approval stays with the owner
- One voice
- Consistent replies across channels
The situation
Independent restaurant owners understand reviews shape trust and revenue, but they don't have time or a system for responding consistently. Enterprise reputation tools price them out, and fully automated tools take the owner's voice out of their own responses.
The strategic decision
Position Hostly in the space neither option serves: an owner-controlled workflow. Monitor reviews, draft the reply in the owner's voice, and keep approval with the owner. Nothing posts on its own, which is exactly what makes it usable in a business where voice is the brand.
What was built
- Positioning and category framing against both enterprise tools and full automation
- Messaging in the owner's language, built on what actually costs them time
- Go-to-market and launch plan for independent restaurant operators
- Product concept developed with Vero Dawn, who engineered the build
Outcome
More reviews answered and answered faster. What had been an evening a week became roughly ten minutes a day, with a consistent brand voice across every response and nothing auto-posted. Revenue impact is an estimate rather than a promise, because review response is one input among many.
Proof
The live product and the workflow itself: a positioning claim that holds up the moment an owner uses it.
