Founder's Story
Believe there is good in the world. Be the good.
Janie Windmiller, founder. Fifteen-plus years turning unfamiliar industries into clear strategy.

That's not a tagline. It's where Be The Good Marketing started.
I'm Janie Windmiller, and I've spent 15+ years learning one thing over and over: the best marketing doesn't come from having every answer. It comes from asking better questions, faster than anyone expects you to.
My career has taken me through B2B software, product marketing, customer advocacy, and operations, including leading a five-person content team as Global Content Team Manager at HCLSoftware. Along the way, I kept landing in industries I didn't grow up knowing. That turned out to be the advantage. I learned to walk into unfamiliar territory, learn its language quickly, earn the trust of the people who know it best, and turn complexity into something clear enough to act on. I call it savviness. It's the skill that matters more than any single channel or tactic.
Somewhere along the way, I realized filling other people's cups filled mine. Watching a founder finally see their own company clearly. Watching a team rally around a message built for them. This became the work I wanted to do full-time. So I built Be The Good Marketing around it.
BTGM exists because your brand, your marketing, your customer experience, and your bottom line are one connected system, not separate line items. I bring the outside perspective, the fast learning curve, and the strategic clarity that turns that system into your advantage.
Based just outside St. Louis, working with businesses across the country. There's no industry too unfamiliar and no problem too tangled. That's exactly where I do my best work.
